A CFS2 Assignment

One of my very favorite things is the record Songs of Fox Hollow by Tom T Hall. It is probably the only album I own where I can sing every song. Its an album full of great life lessons. Very few people can tell a story like my man Tom. I found a video of Mr Hall singing singing his song “I Love” with Tammy Wynette. It will make you smile. With this post and video, comes a request. I would really like it if you would give me a short list of things that make you happy – or things that you love. It’s pretty much the same thing.

Here is the video….

Here is my list of things I love

1. Fairfax – for those of you who don’t know – he is my guitar
2. Camping in the rain
3. Late night phone calls
4. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Ketchup for breakfast
5. Lazy Saturday mornings when I can watch Scooby Doo, read the paper, and drink copious amounts of coffee with milk and
brown sugar, in my sheep cup.

Now its your turn – tell me as many things as you want me to know…..I am sure you can come up with 1….I stopped myself at 5ish, but really I could go on for days and days. Please join in and tell me, I really do want to know.

    God, this is tough.
    1. Tea.
    2. Sheepskin rug under bare feet in the morning
    3. Long handwritten messages (or just pages of writing)
    4. Specific expensive ‘products’ (concealer, lip tint)
    5. Having friends that can be called anytime.
    6. My penguin Brighton Rock mug

  2. Jensina says:

    1. 6 Pump, no water, soy chai tea latte
    2. Talking about metaphysical stuff
    3. talking about religion
    4. Text msg’s
    5. I cannot believe I came across someone who knows Tom T Hall. (I can sing every song on Greatest Hits No. 2 Album)
    6. That wasn’t really an “I love” although my mom and I wonder if that song was written for a little kid because it does sound like he’s singing it for a little kid.
    7. Lefsa
    8. Kids
    9. Baths
    10. Moments in time where I feel really normal. They last for just a moment, but my head is clear and there’s no pain or fatigue.

    abi,

I love your list. You make me wish that I had a sheepskin rug in my house. It sounds fantastic!

    Jensina,

6 pump chai tea latte – how sweet is that????
I don’t know how many pumps are in a regular sized one, but I need to have to always ask baristas to reduce it by half. I am glad you love them though.

The Tom T Hall song “I Love” is from the children’s album that he did. I have heard some of his other works – but that is the album that I love above all others.

Your list is a good one – thanks for sharing it.

    What is Lefsa?

  5. Jensina says:

Lefsa’s basically a really thin potato pancake (norwegian). And the chai is spicy. I attempt to blame my husband. I used to just drink it regular. And I forgot about UGG slippers as my favorite. Thus far, they’re the only brand that the stuff (I can’t think of the name!) doesn’t rub out of so fast. Fur? NO! Sheep fluff. Feathers. I’m going to have to look this up. Shearling? IS that right? Anyway. I bought a brand called “Old Friend” and the shearling rubbed out on the heel and in the toes within a month. The uggs were still fine and are still fine. I didn’t know why I liked them so much but the shearling apparently creates a kind of friction on your feet thus creating “confusion” for your nerves and pain. Does that make sense? I read it so I dunno. I took up your comments section.

  6. laura says:

First of all, no worries about taking up my comments section – I have an unlimited amount of comment boxes…and I love reading them…so keep them coming.

I am assuming that a 6 pump chai latte, would taste like real chai. Its great stuff, but there is no way that I could drink that everyday.

I have moule slippers that sound like your UGG ones. I have no idea what the fur is (faux i am hoping) but I have never come across anything that keeps my feet warm like as well as those.

I am a big fan of potato pancakes as well….although potatoes don’t like me too much these days.

  7. Jensina says:

I’ll have to check out the moule slippers. I’m always on the hunt for something. The chai thing is a comfort thing. I gave up coffee and it’s for comfort. Something to look forward to for the hard mornings I think.
