A Classy Way To Call Them In: A Dinner Bell

Actually, this is a replica of a Ship’s Bell, but my mother always thought it would be great fun to have one of these to call everyone in to dinner!

Our own version of a traditional style, this has been a very popular door bell. It is durable and produces a strong clear tone that will carry a few hundred yards or more. Good for visitors to announce their presence, this bell is also excellent for calling family members home from the surrounding neighborhood. Included wall bracket is permanently linked to the bell.

I gave my sister one of these as a housewarming gift about 15 years ago and she has used it to call her kids home from her in-laws down the road.

I’ve been mulling it over for a couple of years now, but I’m still afraid to get one for my Mom, even though I don’t live with her anymore. She likes the idea a bit too much and I’m afraid I’ll hear her from two states away LOL :-)
