A Closer Look at Weight Commander

When I first started blogging here, I shared with you in a post that one tool I am using to help me lose weight is Weight Commander. I thought I’d take a few minutes to show you a few things I like about WC.
I don’t know if you’ve checked it out yet, but Weight Commander is an awesome tool. When I first downloaded it, I didn’t think it would help me all that much. But I have to say that this is the first thing I open every morning when I come to my computer.
I captured a screenshot real quick today so I could show you some things about WC and how it works. (I worked for nearly 2 hours trying to put together a Camtasia video so you could actually SEE it work, but was unsuccessful, so a plain old screenshot will have to do.)
Here is the screenshot:
If you look first at the upper left corner where #1 is, you will see that I have circled the top box. This tells me what kind of change I’ve had in the last 7 days. As you can see, I’ve lost 2 pounds since last Thursday. (I usually weigh every morning and input my stats; it helps me stay focused.) When I gain it says +2, instead of -2. Pretty simple. You can also see down the left side there are even more stats, but I don’t pay much attention to them.
Now look at the right side. The area circled in red and marked #2 shows you your weight today, as well as your weight from last month, the month before that, and the month before that. Finally, once you’ve used Weight Commander for a year, you’ll be able to see that as well. This encourages me when I can see the changes over time.
Finally, #3 is something that usually pops up every week for me. As you use the WC, it will continue to track your weight changes. Once it picks up on a trend of your “bad” days, you will get a warning the day before. As you can see, I got my warning this morning. When you click on “details” it will show you a graph so you can see your up trend (of weight gain). Fridays have statistically been my worst day for the last 12 weeks, so I got this warning today for me to be careful today.
As you can see, this little program is powerful. I would never recommend anything to you that I don’t use. I use this and highly recommend it. (I don’t receive any compensation for recommending it.) This has been my saving grace many days. I use it more than I use my food journal most weeks.
The Weight Commander is free to try. If you like it, it only costs $10. You can’t beat that! Click here to download and try it.

This looks like a neat program. I will definitely try it out! Thanks for sharing!
Do you know of any free WW programs that I can use with my Palm Pilot or Windows Mobile phone – or even my laptop?
Ellie, I don’t know of any off the top of my head, but I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for you and will let you know if I find any.
