A Dateless New Year

With New Years Eve approaching, do you find yourself looking forward to a dateless holiday?  If so, it may be a great time to take a closer look at the holiday itself and consider various ways that you can observe it, even without a date.

There were times that I chose to stay at home and quite alone on New Years, rather than get caught up in the hustle of the night – I survived.

In fact, one of my favorite things to do was to dig out some of my collectible classic movies or watch the “classic movie channel” – curl up on the sofa in the fuzziest, warmest pajama’s I owned along with a mug of hot chocolate and my loyal pets.

While laying there all warm and toast, I would think about all the folks who were out, dressed to the nine’s and perhaps with a slight limp from those killer shoes – not to mention all those who would be suffering a case of the brown bottle flu the next day while I’d be feeling just as spry as I could.

Have you ever spent a New Years Eve alone?  How did you celebrate?  Why not give our readers a few ideas in case they may be feeling a bit blue over the lack of love?
