A Day of Decorating

I love to organize anything, but when it comes to decorating my home, I really have to make myself do it. I like to decorate, I’m just pretty much clueless sometimes at what looks good and what doesn’t. I’m getting better though.
I get in these moods where I do a lot of decorating done all at once. It makes me feel good to get it done in one sweep and then be able to move on to other things.
So for this Saturday, I have a lot of decorating planned. I am going to start with the outside and put out our harvesty decor. My favorite item is the scarecrow and a good ‘ol bale of hay. A lot of people on our street have started putting our their hay and scarecrows already. I love fall!
After that I am finishing up my boys’ room. I hit a MASSIVE going out of business sale at Pier I Kids and outfitted their whole room for about $50. Everything was 90% off, so my total should have been $500. We are going with a guitar theme and all I need is the final touch, which is a wall full of old records. The boys are very excited and are loving their room so far.
The last bit of decorating on my list today is my daughter’s room. Last weekend we painted her room blue, now I need to finish one wall with big brown and blue polka dots. It should turn out pretty cute.
I’ll be sure and take some pictures of my finished projects.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because sometimes when you have a lot on your plate to do, you just need to schedule a day to knock it all out at once. Do you have a few closets in your house that are driving you crazy? Then schedule a day to do a few of them and just get them done! You will feel so good after you have accomplished your tasks and also confident in your self to finish the other things in your home that need to be done.

Hey! I have an idea! Why don’t I schedule a day for YOU to come and knock it all out… I like that much better…
I used to decorate for the seasons..back when I only had a 2400 sq foot house and 6 kids.
Sounds fun Marye.
When can I come? This is one of those days I just feel like getting in my car and driving…alone….I could be to your house by tomorrow mid morning.
Only a 2400 square foot house and 6 kids? That makes me smile.
I am so glad that I am not the only person who doesn’t really like to decorate! Besides the fact I am terrible at it! But being inspired by Fall and your suggestion of doing it all in one fail swoop sounds FANTASTIC!
Suzanne: Yay, someone I can relate too!
I am lucky I have good friends who help me out.
