Here is the contest for February… I would like to know 5 things you love about being a diabetic. It can be anything from how something makes you feel, look or even how it has changed you to be or handle something you couldn’t previous.
I will share mine with you as the month goes on. And remember you can make them serious, funny or whatever you please. After all it is all about you on this one! I want everyone to remember why they are wonderful and that each of us has so much to be thankful for even among the diabetes. Now go on and love yourself! Just leave your list as a comment on this post.
The prize will be a $30 visa gift card. I will collect all entries through February and then I will pick a winner on March 1st and send you your winning gift card. It is as easy as that.

Great, I’m first
I have a friend who’s diabetic and here are what I love about him -
1. I (have to) eat healthier foods whenever he’s around.
2. Sometimes, I get to check my blood sugar level too.
3. He has no problems dozing off after a good meal.
4. There really are some great tasting sugar-free chocolates out there.
5. When he has highs, then it’s time for us to get moving and I get an extra boost of exercise.
OK, I’m going to follow Grace’s lead. An co-worker of mine has diabetes, and I’ve learned a lot over the past few months of working with him – I like the things I do and have learned, so I hope this counts
1. I don’t eat chocolate around him, and every extra minute I’m not eating chocolate is an accomplishment!
2. I’ve picked up his habit of eating salads more frequently.
3. I pay more attention to my feet. I’ve been a lot nicer to them lately.
4. I better understand the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
5. I learned about the symptoms he experienced that led him to be tested for diabetes, and I can now watch for those symptoms in me and my family.
