A different sort of tree house

January 20, 2009 by Jennifer Chait

Arch Daily has a huge scoop on this amazing Tree House of sorts by Sander Architects. And by huge I mean photo gallery DELUXE. According to the post, the site was limited space-wise, so the answer was to build up. This vertical beauty is one of the coolest structures and structure posts I’ve seen in a while. Seriously – look:

Awesome right!? It makes me rethink what I want in a house, I’ll tell you that much. The back story is really interesting too and kind of touching, totally worth a read.

Go see scads more images and read this great post.

Jennifer – I am glad that you like my house. Living in it is kind of amazing. My brother is following the family tradition of architecture as my grandfather, cousin, & uncle are all in the same field. The house was – as the story said – a labor of live that brought my brother & I much closer than we had been when we were growing up. If you are ever in Delaware – please contact me – and I would be more than happy to give you a tour. Meawhile – if you want more of the backstory — http://www.delawaretoday.com/Delaware-Today/Home-and-Garden/Summer-Fall-2009/The-Family-Home here is the link for a story that was done in our local publication. It tells the inside scope!!!
Thank you for your kind words.
    Leslie
