A Genuine Humility

Here’s one that the world at large could put to good use were they to find it (imho);
“A Genuine Humility”
“… we are actually to practice a genuine humility. This is to the end that our great blessings may never spoil us; that we shall forever live in thankful contemplation of Him who presides over us all.”
The Daily Reflection for December 11th from the 12&12, page 192.
Alcoholics Anonymous and the Twelve Steps have been able to bring an old saying into the consciousness of my thinking and make it work.
“Count your blessings, not your troubles.”
“Indeed, the attainment of greater humility is the foundation principle of each of A.A.’s Twelve Steps.” p. 70

Hey Mark!
Great post. Hope all is well in your corner of the world.

I didn’t do very much to put this one together
but thanks…
My little corner is as it should be according to plan – His, not mine, which doesn’t always make me happy yet keeps me grateful.
How are you doing?
I’ll be durned – I followed your profile and came up with Dick B. at “Improve Our Conscious Contact.” Verrrrry interesting…
My favorite phrase from the 12/12 is Bill W’s definition of humility on page 58. I try (and usually forget) to fashion my life according to those words.
Dropped by for some good AA coffee. Keep trudging onward odaat
Thanks all
dAAve – you’re one who has made progress then eh? (I know you have…)
Jim – good thought
