A New Sofa for $65

Slipcovers are a blessing to someone looking for a quick change. Better yet, they are ideal for deterring cat scratching!
I bought my sofa before I got my cat, and he loved its rough texture. Foam was starting to come out of the front arms where cat had repeatedly attacked, yet the sofa was in good shape otherwise.
I went to several furniture stores, but nothing really screamed “buy me.” I decided to try out a slipcover for the first time. The Sure Fit slipcover I purchased is made of a suede-like microfiber. My husband and I watched as the cat tried to scratch it, but he quickly abandoned his old practice. Smooth fabrics just aren’t as appealing to cats. Victory is mine.

Advantages of using slipcovers:
• Inexpensive compared to buying a new sofa
• Eco-friendly way to make your existing sofa last longer
• Most are machine washable
• Variety of fabrics and colors, so redecorating is easy
What do you like (or hate) about slipcovers?

I never thought of this as a green deal – and while I usually hate slip covers you make a good point. Better to recover, than trash and re-buy.
I guess organic would have been more green, but I needed something quickly!
