Story reading times in families are to be treasured and help instill the love of reading. Perhaps my Mom’s reading to us at bedtime helped further this in me.

My grandmother was from Ukraine. She was a great story teller. I think she instilled creativity with her fanciful stories.

My much older sister used to read a lot to me. We shared a bedroom until I was 10 years old! She read a story to me almost every night before bed. Also, both of my parents would read the daily paper from front to back. Magazine were big in our home when I was growing up. My husband and I are hopefully instilling the love of reading in our sons!
