A River Called Forever
Reader Jenny recommends the book, A River Called Forever, by Terry Moore.
It follows a young man who is thrust into the role of caregiver to his aging parents, who died within six weeks of each other.
According to the official website:
My story chronicles our family’s personal journey through the hardships of aging and the daily issues life placed before us. It is about salvaging joy from tears and meaning from tragedy, while caring for those who once cared for us.
Jenny reports that it is both light hearted and serious at the same time.
The author had me at:
If you find yourself ready to scream, cry, or strangle a parent who is acting like a three-year-old, take heart. As appealing as orphanhood may eventually seem, my immediate suggestion would be to rush down to the liquor store and pack as many spirits into your car as possible…
This one is going on my reading list as soon as possible.
