A Trip to the Day Spa with the CFS Tag a Long

the new remedy for the common coldYou have heard me complain about feeling less than well a lot these days. I am sorry about that….its not my intention to use this as a forum to whine about how lousy I feel. OK that is my intention when I need it….but I have been doing it far more than I would like to.

A few days ago, I wrote about how I have yet another illness….this time the heinous cold/flu thats been floating around, and I had not had much in the way of relief. Nor did I know how to go about getting myself to feel better. That is until I read Ellie’s brilliant comment about aromatherapy. I am cautious about aromatherapy (at least doing it myself) because I don’t know a whole lot about it, and scented oils and other products were part of the onset of CFS for me….I will tell you about that on another day – lets just say that the scent of vanilla does terrible terrible things to me even now.

Back on topic – Ellie gave me a fabulous idea, and that was to make an appointment with my day spa (ok I just ran with her suggestion). My spa uses essential oils, and what’s even better, is that you close your eyes, they give you 3 to scent test first, and you get to pick which one appeals to you…they all have different healing powers, and you end up choosing the one that your body needs the most. On friday night, I chose “uplifting” – I told you there was something to this thing….my health or lack thereof has gotten me so frustrated and depressed lately, that the “uplifting” blend of essential oils is clearly a good one for me.

So I had a facial, and the combination of essential oils and steam did the trick ~ my sinuses are clear, and my skin feels amazing. It no longer has that weird texture you get from fevers. Oh and I am feeling much much better. Still tired….but hey, I can handle that.

I wish everything that we deal with, could be so simple to fix…..I am just glad that I have one less thing to worry about.

Wouldn’t it be great if our health care could pay for trips to the day spa? You would never get me out of there. I know I am dreaming, but there must be some country that has a health plan like that…..Sweden, or Switzerland maybe.

Hey, I’m so glad that my suggestion helped – I certainly didn’t expect it to have such dramatic effects! Now I just have to remember to take my own advice next time I am sick… Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

I was just as surprised as you that it worked so well. But next time a cold like that hits, first thing I am going to do, is book myself a facial or somekind of massage at my spa.

    You Rock!
