A Woman’s Guide to Good Health

A Woman's Guide to Good Health Here’s a book I carry around in my purse — to make sure I always have something useful to read. It’s small and lightweight, and the front cover says it will help me “Overcome Stress, Enjoy Exercise, and Achieve Weight Control.” Perfect!

It’s written by Carrie Carter, M.D. who also writes the award-winning Health Matters column for MomSense magazine. There are nine chapters, covering stress, nutrition, controversial foods, weight management, exercise, crucial screening tests, toxins, nutritional supplements, heart disease, and menopause.

Best of all, Carter writes like a real person, infusing personality and humor into every information-packed page. Although she was a board-certified medical practitioner for 16 years, she discovered she had a chronic illness 6 years ago that forced her to change her lifestyle completely. She writes with compassion for readers who also struggle with imperfect health.

A woman doctor writing for women. I love it!

This six-letter word is the stimulus that sets many other negative actions in motion — all of which interfere with our ability to thrive. [...]
