A young girl’s twin found in her stomach

Well here’s something you don’t hear every day. A nine-year-old girl in Greece was complaining of severe stomach aches so her parents took her to the hospital to examine her. They found what they thought was a two-inch long tumor but when they removed it they were shocked to discover it was actually an embryo.

Although she has fully recovered, what a shock it must be. The embryo was a well-formed fetus that had a head, hair, and eyes but it was without a brain or umbilical cord. According to the hospital’s head of pediatrics, there is only a 1 in 500,000 chance for one twin to absorb the other.

That’s just a little freaky, to say the least. I wonder if they’ll ever tell her.

Oh wow, I can’t even imagine. Reminds me of that Stephen King book.
