Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG): This is the hormone that is produced during pregnancy.

Hyperemesis gravidarum: This is the official term for severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. This is much more than the usual morning sickness and can result in the mother being admitted to the hospital to be rehydrated.
