N is also for:

Neonate: This is the medical term used to describe your newborn until he or she is 4 weeks old.

Neural-tube defect: A birth defect of the spinal cord. The most common one known is spina bifida. This is a “hole in the spine” that is caused when the spine doesn’t close up properly during the first few weeks of pregnancy.

Nursing: Breastfeeding
