Mabuhay! I’m Raquel. Born in Manila, Philippines. Residing in Christchurch, New Zealand with my doting husband of nearly 2 years, Joel and my adorable 8-month old son, Nate. I’m a stay-at-home mom who loves to cook (since getting married, that is! Well, you know, I grew up with home-cooked food readily available at the table without bothering to know how it was cooked but how it tasted that mattered!).

As a newly wed, I used to identify cooking as a chore but after I got the hang of it (and received praises for it from my food critic hubby), I totally enjoyed it! From what started out with preparing quick-fix dishes, I slowly developed the desire to experiment on more challenging and interesting ones, particularly Asian dishes. I take pride in being Asian, hence my passion for this worldwide, well-loved cuisine!
