An Alzheimer’s Journey
My involvement with Alzheimer’s began with Auntie’s diagnosis and Mother and me caring for her. Then Mother developed this disease and became my responsibility, too. As I found others searching for comfort and encouragement, I began to write about our journey…Mother and Auntie and me.
This resulted in newspaper and magazine articles, then finally the book, When We Become the Parent to Our Parents. My articles also appeared in several anthologies, such as Finding the Joy in Alzheimer’s.
I also give talks about Alzheimer’s and caregiving to encourage others who are going through this situation. In addition to Alzheimer’s Notes, I write Quilting and Patchwork, One Book Two Book, Tea Time Notes, Trails End Quilters, and Green Vagabond Traveler.
