Activate Your Macrophages for Hair Regrowth

Head Wound
Searching through my back catalog of half-baked, not-yet published posts, I came across this one… which is strangely similar to the news about hair regeneration in mice that came out this week. According to the article abstract from in the Journal of Cell Biology researchers led by Nao Osaka observed a similar phenomena in mice with skin wounds. The critical factor seems to be a wound-activated protein kinase called ASK1. “ASK1 was necessary for the up-regulation of a number of immune response factors in wounded skin, including many that are expressed in macrophages.”

Again, all this research is in early days. So, give yourself a head wound at your own risk.
