Acupuncture and Wii updates

I know – an odd combination. ![]()
Tomorrow I go for my second acupuncture appointment. All in all, I’d say that the first one was helpful. The intense itching is a lot less frequent than before, although I still had a few episodes. (for those who would like to know what I’m working with the acupuncture, this post will explain it: I kept my New Year’s resolution – acupuncture) The few intense periods I had were short, although extremely itchy.
But – small word, big meaning – I noticed something interesting.
The acupuncturist told me that in Chinese medicine, the left shoulder is connected with the colon. Since I have issues with that, likely IBS, she wasn’t surprised about the intense itch in that particular shoulder. Oddly enough, 24 hours after my acupuncture appointment, I started having abdominal cramping and the resulting problems. It was only after a couple of days that I remembered that she said there was a connection. So, was my discomfort a result of that connection and the acupuncture? Or was it merely coincidence? I’ll have to mention it to her and see what she says.
Now, for the Wii report. I am very happy to say that I am still playing it every day. I have a standing tennis match with the system ever day around 4 PM, and I play at least one match of five games, if not two. I also try to get my 16 yr old to play against me or my husband. It’s much more fun to play against someone else than by myself.
I’ve noticed a couple of things: I look forward to it and if I’m too busy to play, I find myself making myself un-busy enough to get in a match. I enjoy it that much. Second – I need to be more careful as I’m developing tennis elbow! Seriously.
You know that warning to be sure that there’s nothing around you when you play? Take it seriously. My husband whacked the ceiling with a remote and the other day, he knocked over a bottle and broke a mug that my daughter had left sitting on the coffee table. No wonder Nintendo had to make these things have wrist straps. I can only imagine the damage that was done before the straps were standard equipment.

LOL about the Wii. My son & his wife have devoted an entire room to theirs so that there’s nothing for them to break.
