Add Calcium and Vitamin C to Burn Some Fat

When I was in high school, the big rage of the day was eating a lot of celery, because celery has less calories than the effort it takes to eat it. In theory then, by eating it you will automatically lose weight. The problem with this theory, is first of all, celery alone isn’t very nutritious. (But just try and tell a teenage girl that.)

The second problem is that if you reduce your calories too much, your metabolism goes down to nothing. One source says, “When your metabolism drops, you will retain more weight as the body responds to what it thinks is a period of malnutrition.”
Celery isn’t the only magic fat burning food, however. Vitamin C and calcium have both been proven to help with weight loss. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruit, which by the way, is 90 percent water.
Other studies have shown that getting two to three servings of dairy products can help you lose weight. Aim for low-fat stuff like cottage cheese, low-fat string cheese, and yogurt.
