Adopt for Shelter Week

This week is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. One of the best ways to show your appreciation is to adopt a pet that needs a home. Adopting a special needs pet is even better if your life allows it.
I’d like for you to get to know a special cat who needs a good home, and perhaps she may even find a home with you!

Willamina is waiting for a home of her own.
Willamina is a three-year-old domestic short hair gray tabby. She lives at the ASPCA in the Upper Eastside of Manhattan in New York City, but she wants to find a special home of her own.
She was rescued from a kill shelter early last year. Willamina is very beautiful, but she also has very sensitive skin and needs to receive prednisolone once a day for life, as well as a special prescription diet. She sometimes has recurrent eye discharge that’s probably related to her skin sensitivity. She can be a little shy, so a low-activity level household would be ideal. Willamina does get along with other cats, though she needs to stick to her own diet, not that of her housemates. If you’re interested in adopting Willamina, contact ASPCA at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4120.
