All Things New

The Arts & Crafts channel here at b5 is having our monthly showcase called ‘All Things New’. What’s new in sewing? I don’t know but I do know that there is nothing much newer than a new baby.

“This receiving blanket is double fabric, making it just the right weight – from changing diapers to covering baby for a nap. It’s sure to become a favorite “blankie” for any baby!”
The supplies to make this won’t break the bank either. You need 3/4 yd. of flannel print, 3/4 yd. of coordinating flannel and coordinating thread. The instructions are at sewing.org. Note that the instructions are for a sewing machine but if you are patient enough to do the zig-zag by hand, you can also make this without a machine.
I love what they say about this becoming baby’s favorite ‘blankie’. I remember mine. It was named ‘Pinky’ and I’m sure my mother thought I would become deathly ill because I would not let her wash it!
Do you have a ‘blankie’ story? Either about your blankie or your child’s blankie? Let me hear your stories and remember just how special a blankie is. Make one for the newest of new - a new baby!

Adorable!
Thanks, Tammy!
