As we try to learn more about Alzheimer’s, especially if we’re caring for a family member or a resident in a nursing home, we’re appreciative of books and online resources that can help us understand this memory (actually lack of) condition better. When Mother and Auntie became ill with Alzheimer’s, I had mainly books to turn to. The Internet wasn’t well advanced with information and support groups for us.
So, in order to assist my readers in a better understanding, I try to find resources for them.
Psych Central, which offers information about numerous illnesses, provides many articles about Alzheimer’s for the family caregiver and professional. You’ll find Alzheimer’s explained, caregiver’s guides, overview of the disease, and other resources.
Do you have Alzheimer’s resources, whether online or off, that you find especially helpful and want to share with others?

My name is Matt and I wanted to thank you for your blog and your comments. I spent 3.5 years working in an Alzheimer’s/Long Term Care facility in Utah and I know the difficulties and pains associated with this disease. I personally got to know some great people afflicted with Alzheimer’s and I also became close with some of their families. I’ve seen a lot of resources that help. One in particular seems to be a great benefit: http://www.thecaringspace.com
Please pass this link along to anyone you feel could benefit from it.
I always enjoy your blog.
