America’s Healthiest Pets

Health.com recently had a write up about America’s healthiest pets, and the results really aren’t that surprising.

In fact, they seem to follow the statistics for America’s most popular pets as well.
Their first pet on their list is dogs, followed by cats, fish, birds, hamsters (no “p,” health.com!) and — the only non-housepet — horses.
The animals were picked according to the benefits they can afford to humans. Things like how active the pet is (which means you’re more likely to be active as well), to the calming benefits of petting or whether the animal has a “hypoallergenic” coat that doesn’t contribute as much to allergies.
Do you agree with the list? Do you have a pet you’d like added?
