An Indonesian feast in Rotterdam

I was in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, visiting friends a couple weeks ago. They took us out for an amazing dinner at a local Indonesian restaurant. We ordered the ‘rice table’ - basically a whole lot of small dishes. And when I say ‘a whole lot’, I mean it - look at this spread! It took two tables to hold our food for four.
Now you may notice that there are a few non-vegetarian dishes present in the photo, but well over half the items were veggie-friendly. There was an all-vegetarian option on the menu, but since I was dining with meat-eaters, I just requested that the server place the vegetarian items closer to me.
I think there were 4 different kinds of rice, and what seemed like an endless assortment of other dishes featuring beans, eggs, eggplant, bean sprouts, coconut, squash, tofu, and other items. It felt like we were eating for hours. Everything was interesting and tasty.
If you ever happen to find yourself in Rotterdam, I highly recommend checking out Indonesia Satebar.
