Ancient Chinese Dishes, anyone?

Well, that went by fast, didn’t it. July, that is. I’ve been swamped with end-of-year requirements for homeschooling and preparing our curriculum for the coming schoolyear. That’s why I haven’t been blogging much.

Being (partly) classical homeschoolers, we study history in cycles, and this year we’re going back to the Ancients. I can’t wait to study Ancient China, since the first go around we didn’t touch on it enough. So I’ve been doing a bit of research, and I can’t really find a lot (yet) that clearly defines the differences between ancient Chinese cuisine and today’s (unless you’re talking about modern Chinese cuisine such as those from Susanna Foo).

There are a bunch of websites and I’ll provide links later, but I’m also looking for books, other than

The Frugal Gourmet Cooks Three Ancient Cuisines: China, Greece, and Rome

which we used for Greece and Rome several years ago. Suggestions and comments welcome!
