And the Middle Children Take the Lead!

Remember I posted: Are First Born Children the Most Organized? Well, our non-scientific poll study disagrees with common science.

According to our Declutter It poll we’ve had running all April, the majority of middle born children are kicking butt at organizing, with first born children following closely behind.

Last born and only children appear to be the least organized. Hmmm. Being a first born, I’m surprised that the middles won this round. If you met my middle sibling, Sarah, you’d know why I’m so surprised. Still, it’s interesting that we chumped the research. Now, who is going to help me submit this research to a journal? :)

Just kidding. I think we’ll have to enjoy this research here, and here alone.

  1. I am number two out of four. Does that make me a middle child??? If so then I fit in with the results of your scientific poll!

Also I have a free e-book to download on my my site that you might be interested in called Planning With Kids Top 100 Tips.

  2. Janice says:

I am a middle child of three girls. Growing up I shared a room with my older sister and she hated the fact that I had a hard time keeping my side clean. At that time my younger sister was worse than I was.

As adults both of my sisters show their natural ability to be organized. I’m just as organized but I have to constantly work at it. It doesn’t come natural to me.

  3. Cherie says:

I’m surprised at this, too! I know a few middle children who will laugh very heartily at this.

  4. Elizabeth says:

I’m last born and a hoarder and clutterbug constantly fighting to be organised, so it’s an interesting observation. So now I’m wondering what it is that last born’s have in common that causes this tendency.
