And the Wine Winner Is…

Richard A from A Passionate Foodie takes the prize. My selection process was very high-tech, as you can see—using my Longaberger wine basket. Once I get his info (he lives in the strict shipping state of Massachusetts but has an address he can use in NH, I think), I will ship him the two bottles of Rosenblum Zinfandel: 2006 releases of Harris Kratka and Richard Sauret vineyards.
Thanks to everyone who participated. There were some inspiring entries, especially from Brian and Sarah Mulvehill who will be involved in the true spirit of the event (a bottle from a trip to Italy celebrating their dear friends’ anniversary) and Eliza who was saving a bottle of wine her husband touchingly and surprisingly gave her. There are some homes I wish I could stop in to share a sip or two: Dr. Debs who seems torn between Bordeaux and Burgundy, Sonadora with her Silver Oak, Amy with her Fiddlehead, and John with his Caymus. Or Dale, for his wine and oh-so-yummy-lookin’ cupcakes. It was fun to see that some entries hit close to home: Steve with his Hendry (my favorite Rosenblum Zinfandel), Jessica with her Rosenblum Cab that I’ve never gotten to try, and Tony with his new bride and Monte Rosso (not Rosenblum’s but from Biale, another favorite Zin producer).
I hope everyone has a fantastic time this Saturday evening. No matter what the wine or how it tastes, you know you’ll be among good company and will have new memories to share. That’s one way to justify how much money some of us spend on this stuff. The bottle may only last a few hours, but the memories can last a lifetime….

Farley,
Thanks for holding the contest, it was nice to start thinking about OTBN a few days early.
Enjoy your night!
Congrats to the winner!
Thanks for the link to my site. Try the cupcakes sometime and let me know how they work out for you!
Congrats to Richard! We’ll be opening a bottle of 2000 Rudd Jericho Canyon. Hope everyone has some great wine tomorrow night!
Thanks Farley! When I get back into town, Sun/Mon, I will send you my shipping info.
Again, I appreciate everone’s participation and lovely stories. It’s a nice way for us all to come together.
