A lamb born on a crowded transport truck on the way to a Bronx slaughterhouse in September is now enjoying new friends at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization. Angelo’s mother was led to slaughter moments after giving birth, but Angelo survived to touch the hearts of many.

Angelo has joined more than 200 farm animals rescued from New York City over the last several years.
These happy animals were taken to Farm Sanctuary to live out their lives. In Angelo’s case, a lady who had been shopping near the slaughterhouse saw the lamb and rescued it, providing shelter for the newborn for several days.
Farm Sanctuary operates the largest rescue and refuge network in North America. They focus on rescuing animals from factory farming or industrial animal agriculture.
