“Animal hero” and vegetarian Anna Nicole Smith dies
The online papers are abuzz this morning with the news of Anna Nicole Smith’s untimely death. The stripper turned playboy model turned insane reality show star led a tragically strange life, from her bizarre marriage to a Texas millionaire 63 years her senior to her son’s mysterious death in the Bahamas just last year.
Anna Nicole had also posed for a PETA ad campaign and, according to the animal-rights agency, had lost large amounts of weight after switching to a vegetarian diet. Here’s a little except from PETA’s press release about her death:
She was a great friend to animals and used every opportunity to speak out against senseless cruelty. We always thought Anna Nicole was a perfect fit for PETA because, just like us, she not only hated cruelty to animals and loved her dog but also couldn’t be ignored, and no matter what people thought of her, they always had an opinion, one way or another.
The cause of her death is still unknown. She leaves behind a 5-month-old daughter (over whom a paternity battle is raging).
Who is this Anna Nichole of whom you speak? Obviously a true humanitarian who has tried to do her good works out of the public eye. When will the media learn that we are desperate for more information about these good people while they are alive and will not be satisfied by passing reference to their meaningful lives upon their death.

i agree w/ april. She had a rough life and died young. Just because she liked using her sexuality for attention doesn’t make her a bad person.
every time someone like Anna Nichole speaks up for animal rights PETA’s credibility goes down. If she is such a caring person how come her son was a herion addict? She probably didn’t have enough brains to realize that fur coats come from animals.
