Anna Nicole Smith Dies Alone

I can’t help but feel such sorrow for Anna Nicole Smith, who died this afternoon.

After living a life filled with enough (some would say) lurid material that even Hollywood couldn’t make it up, I wonder if the world will be able to muster a modicum of respect and sensitivity.

Judging from this CNN.com headline, I’m skeptical: “Smith: From Topless Dancer To Tabloid Star”.

In a way, her death reminds me of my own mother’s passing…alone, broken-hearted, with no true identity.

I truly hope her new-born daughter will be taken care of and will grow up to know something enlightening about her mother — beyond her centerfold and tabloid self.
Such a shame.
