Anniversary Scrapbook

I’m very excited this week, because my husband and I are celebrating our fifth anniversary. We’ve had a great five years, and I wanted to help commemorate our happy life together by making him a scrapbook. If you’re thinking of doing this, here are a few tips to make the process simple and easy.
1.) Before you begin, think about the happy or funny moments you want to memorialize. Then, start hunting for pictures that represent that time.
2.) Include receipts, tickets, and fortune cookie slips. Every once in a while I will hold on to the receipt for a special dinner, or keep the fortune from a Chinese takeout night (if I like the message on it, that is!) It’s interesting to go back and look at how much you paid for dinner out, especially when you go back through the scrapbook years from now.
3.) Do you enjoy movies? We tend to rent movies because going out is so expensive, but every once in a while we will splurge and see one on the big screen. Ticket stubs make for a nice page when combined with a picture of you or even copies of movie posters from the Internet.
4.) Quotes. Do an Internet search for “love quotes” or “anniversary sayings” and you’ll find plenty of free sources for words that sum up your relationship.
5.) Highlight all the goofy things you love about your husband. Put a picture of him on a page with all the traits that are unique to him. Does he sing in the shower? Act as chief spider slayer of the house? Include those alongside his photo.
I gave my husband the scrapbook last night and he absolutely loved it. I’m sure yours will too!
