anoSEXYa? Some pro-anas think so.

I must say that I rarely felt “sexy” when I was anorexic.  Maybe late at night when I was checking out my hip bones in the mirror, but other than that, I usually felt that I was still too far from my “goal weight” to feel super attractive.

However, with the proliferation of hundreds of pro-ana sites and thinspiration YouTube vids, it seems as if many, many anorexics (and bulimics) promote themselves — and others who have BMIs under 18.5 – as objects of sexual desire.

What I wonder is if the majority of guys find these emaciated ladies inviting?  I’m going to assume that some do, but I know few men of this caliber.  Most I have spoken with like a little “meat” on their bones.

To investigate, I’d like to ask the readers of Scott’s blog, Health and Men, to tell us what you like to see in a woman’s body.

Don’t be shy — if you love anorexic ladies, say so and tell us why.  If you want more “cushion” in your significant other, say that, too.  It’s an open forum.  (Be tasteful, though — at least a little!)

Give me an hour and I’ll have a post-link to this.

    Cool beans! Thanks, Scott!

I’ve always found the “heroin chic” too-skinny look incredibly disturbing. While every guy is entitled to his own opinion, I would think that the vast majority would opt for the “healthy” look; i.e. not overweight and not underweight.

Speaking of heroin chic, Amy winehouse is one of those. She’s groteque from the drugs and tattoo’d arms on a woman is a big turn off for me.

    Joey & Scott:

Heroin chic is disturbing. I’d like to think the trend has waned, but I know there are some sectors that still view it as cool.

As far as Ms. Winehouse is concerned, I fully expect to see her obituary one of these days. Her voice is great, but her mental health is absolutely horrendous. It’s definitely kind of sad.

I have to say, I read this and I was horrified. Im a recovering anorexic. It makes me feel terrible, and just short of living when people say “I like my lady’s with some cushion.

Im naturally skinny. I naturally have no nice butt or perfect big breast…I was always small and tiny. It honestly breaks my heart that to many men im “not good enough” or plump enough. But Im me, and I might not be some curvy women, but I am a human – and I have feelings.

I spend 1 and a half years recovering and I can say that Im doing good. Im eating like I should and back to MY normal weight.

What you write is nothing but a form of putting women down, and to that I condemn. Your just as bad as pro anna sites or thinsperation. You should be ashamed.
