Another Creative Contest

Here is another contest with a bit of a twist for those who love crafty things & writing. Etsy & Instructables have joined forces for the Sew Useful Contest. All you need to do is create something useful and write the tutorial to go with it. Read more information at either websites contest page:

I’m thinking handmade journals, journal covers, pencil cases, ways to carry journals… I’m sure you’ve got great ideas, too. This is one contest I could enter if I wanted to. There’s no restriction on where you live to enter. The prizes don’t look too bad, either. Oh, and you’ve only got until 16th of this month to enter.

Writing a tutorial is an excellent writing exercise even if you never enter. You could work on a rough draft in your journal and then tidy it up later to submit or just see what you learn from the exercise.
