When you feel the hunger pulling at you, you feel like you have succeeded. Depression sets in if you give into the feeling of hunger and eat. In her eyes, eating is failure so she is happier because Hunger is victory. Probably doesn't make sense. I tried. Also, notice the bones outlined in the picture.
