Antibiotic could increase diabetes risk

Tequin, an antibiotic from Bristol Myers Squibb, could cause diabetes, among other side effects, according to a study in Canada. The study found that the antibiotic could increase risk of diabetes by 17 times and risk of hospitalization (for low blood sugar) by 4 times. The study appears in the New England Journal of Medicine.
