Are Excuses Keeping You From Losing Weight?

Losing weight sucks. Right? It’s hard. It’s seems like the weight piles on a lot faster than it goes back off. I mean, we have a right to gripe and complain about losing weight…don’t we?

No. We don’t.

Whose fault is it that we’re fat? Whose fault is it that we are unhealthy? Nobody but our own. So we have no place to whine and cry about being fat. We have no place to moan about feeling hungry.

Look, I’m in the same boat as you. I know how difficult it is. The majority of June was totally bunk for me. I struggled a lot, going up and down from week to week.

I will admit that I do my fair share of whining. I do my fair share of complaining about not being able to eat my favorite ice cream or pizza (all the time). But a couple of weeks ago I found myself beginning to think up excuses of why I should eat whatever I wanted to eat.

But where do excuses get us? Right back to where we started. Fat. Miserable. Unhealthy. Unable to breathe properly. Losing sleep. Out of control.

Excuses are fear-based. We have to learn to take control of ourselves and not allow ourselves to make excuses any longer. Excuses bog us down. They harm us, not help us. Excuses cause us to do things we really don’t want to do. Things that we wish tomorrow we wouldn’t have done today.

You’re worth more than that. I’m worth more than that.

Are you allowing excuses to stop you from losing weight?
