Are Multiple Births The New Cash Crop?
Nadya Suleman, the woman who recently made news and became the topic of many conversations will be leaving the California hospital with more than the octuplets she recently gave birth to.
The 33-year-old single mother who had six children at home and in an act of irresponsibility on the parts of both she and her doctor gave birth to eight more babies will be walking out with a publicist and multiple television and book offers and we, the curious rubber-necking society we are – will buy into the books and shows that will allow this woman to profit in a very large way. And what a tragic price it is that will be paid.
As a mother of multiples myself, I believe what this woman has done is a terrible, inexcusable tragedy and the ultimate cost is going to be the tiny lives that will be missing out on a normal life because they will be spending their life as the modern day circus sideshow and their mother staring as the snake-oil salesman.
I am completely appalled at what this woman has done. I hope the doctor loses his license to practice and is somehow held accountable for the multi-million dollar debt the birth of these little ones will tally up.
When will there be laws in place that will prevent this type of practice from taking place? I believe this woman planned well to gain attention – to get rich off having her uterus filled like a circus clown car – and it’s looking like her plan worked.

I am personally appalled. I do believe that it should be up to people to personally make these decisions themselves. BUT there comes a point when maybe they shouldn’t be allowed. It sounds like she has some psychological disorder, so maybe they should have her evaluated before transferring 8 embryos into her. I can’t believe what she has done and who irresponsible she is. I don’t think it’s fair to anyone. The tax payers who will be made responsible or mostly her other 6 children. I feel bad for them. This is a single mother with 14 children. They require a lot of attention and affection and love. I don’t know how she plans to do this. I believe she was banking on getting deals and using this to make money and that’s not fair to anyone. I will be making it a point to not pay attention to anything she writes or is part of. The real victims in this are her children. I feel the most bad for them.
this woman needs to get a very intense psychological help asap!!
It does look she had the plastic surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie and maybe her
obsession with kids connected to Angie’s lifestyle..
I pray for these kids! I hope they will have adequate care and love!
