Are Some Women “Made to Have Babies?”

I never heard of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar until I found out there were doing a reality TV show because they had a lot of kids. So many kids, in fact, that they could have about three baseball teams of their own. They currently have 18 and the 19th is set to arrive in spring.

When the Duggars give interviews, everything is so positive and happy with them. They talk consistently about being excited for the next child. They talk about the excitement of having so many children.
One quote I recently read on People really stuck out with me. Michelle Duggar’s OB said, “Some women are made to have babies, and Michelle is to the nth degree.”
If you can have babies without difficulty, does that mean you should have so many that some of your kids are now younger than your grandchildren? Can the children she currently has benefit from yet another one being added? And when is the appropriate time to stop?

They believe in something called Quiverfull — have as many kids as your body lets you because they are gifts. If everyone did this, we’d run out of food, water and other resources, but I guess they don’t care about that.
