Are We Teaching Kids Global Warming Lies

In the current frenzy to be cool “going green” in homes, schools and communities, are we teaching youngsters (and adults) global warming lies? Schools are “green” this year and youngsters report in class discussions how their parents are practicing or not practicing energy and earth saving tactics. (Big Brother?)

Do we have the correct data or simply what politicians and those making money from the big industry of environmental and global warming wants us to know? Are scientists, who present data that disproves the theory of global warming (and this group is growing), discredited and even lose their jobs because they’re not “politically correct” in their beliefs?
Holly Fretwell, a natural resources management expert, has a well researched and documented book out there, The Sky’s Not Falling! Why It’s OK to Chill About Global Warming, that presents a common sense view, with facts, on this topic, without the scare tactics the politicians and environmental businesses are using. She also includes “fun facts” for the youngsters reading the book.
(Holly’s most recent book – Who is Minding the Federal Estate?: Political Management of America’s Public Lands.)

Would you say that you love your children? Truly love them? Want what is best for them? Envision a happy and healthy future for them? If so, why would you doubt the thousands of climate scientists around the world discovering harrowing truths about what we are doing to the climate, the atmosphere, the biosphere and the oceans — and instead believe an economist who isn’t willing to share these truths?
The “global warming lies,” as you call them, are not what you think they are. The lies are coming from people not telling the whole truth, some because they don’t want to frighten us, and some because they don’t want us to make the changes we’ll have to make to safeguard the future.
But wouldn’t you want to know if your children’s well-being was in jeopardy? Wouldn’t you rather do something than be told it’s okay to chill about it?
Fun facts about the end of life as we know it? More like crimes against humanity. Global warming is NOT an economic issue. It is a matter of the survival of the human species and most other living beings. And just because this sounds over the top doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
Please, for the sake of your children and grandchildren, become climate literate, become ecologically literate, become scientifically literate. Ms Fretwell likes to talk about causation versus correlation; try weight of evidence! Check it out for yourself (Arctic summer sea ice, the methane timebomb, coral reefs, the Global Humanitarian Forum). Ms Fretwell is giving you some very bad advice.
