Are You a Househusband?

I normally don’t even think about this topic, for me the household is all done by me, the mom. The husband goes to work and comes home and sleeps, okay that isn’t all he does but you get the drift. I’m the one home all day with the house and taking care of the kids. While

I know there are men that stay home and do this, it doesn’t always click in my mind until I hear of one. Don’t get me wrong though because I know many that do: John Chow, Garry Conn, Darren Rowse, etc. But for some reason when I think of all these guys I just don’t think of them as guys, or girls even but equal. You know they all do the same stuff but when you hear of a show like, “Househusbands of Hollywood” you actually picture big buffy men holding these tiny little babies and freaking out over poop in diapers. Right?
Well there is going to be a reality show of five husbands in Hollywood and how they get along as dads, being home or being a househusband as they call them and everything else that goes along with being a reality tv show. Would you watch this?
The husband and myself got to talking and while he said no way, I think I’ll watch a webisode or two just to see. I mean there’s like 15 million desperate housewives shows and just this one dad one, someone needs to support them right?
I’ve read that they are going to try portraying the men as positive and not in a negative light. I know some of those housewives shows had them sleeping around and such, so I can’t wait to see this. I really hope they do a good show and I’d like to see being a house spouse and not just some Manny. Good luck guys! Props to the “househusbands” around the world…there are many of us although some are not too comfortable being called as such. With the current economic state not only in America but around the world some become househusband by circumstance and not by choice.You practically would be left with no choice should you become victim of downsizing or what have you,so you take care of the house and kids and other chores…while the loving wife who is still is a member of the work force stems the tide for the family…
Househusband need not be stereotyped as just bums around the house…aside from being productive with house chores,they can also be productive with the available financial opportunities like doing work from home jobs.
I am proud of being productive doing house chores as well as trying to help financially being a househusband by promoting products from home such as CopyOracle…so in a way I still keep my sanity in today’s trying times…and yes,much closer to the fridge where the beer is cold while watching Househusbands in Hollywood…
