Are You Contemplating the SAHD Role?
Saturday mornings are for drinking coffee and browsing the internet. I happened to come across Googa Baby blog. Apparently the couple who own the blog are contemplating dad to stay home.
Josh and I have definitely discussed the possibility of him being a Stay At Home Dad (SAHD). He loves the idea. When we found out we were having Pooky, we came up with a mental list of life-after-baby options: Do we both work? Does one of us stay home? Would it be financially feasible?
Well, if he loves the idea, and you can make it work financially then I wouldn’t hesitate. That is my advice: simple and straight forward. Kind of like the Nike slogan “just do it”. People seem to talk a lot about it and rightfully so, as it is a big lifestyle change. But just do it. Ok ok, I am just looking for more people to visit my blog and join the online stay at home dad crowd I admit.
But if you are contemplating on becoming a stay at home dad you may find the follow articles helpful:
1) Did my background influence me to become a stay at home dad?
2) 5 things I learned since staying home with my kids
3) Top 5 hardest things to deal with as a stay at home dad
4) Has having one source of income effected our family?
5) Are there any regrets?
And don’t forget to pick up a copy of The Stay-at-Home Dad Handbook.
