Art to share: Debe Friedhoff

Have a couple of new items I have done lately. The one is 36 x 24 on Luan I found out in the loft, and is mixed media, the title is Wish You Were Here… I imagine I listen too much to Pink Floyd, if there is such a thing, but imagined the 3 seasons in the windows while she is waiting, and would have written the song lyrics “with my finger on foggy windows” if there was not a problem with copy rights…
And another is my self portrait, called BRAIN SCAN, that is 8 x10 markers with added embellishment of a keyboard END key, and the circuit board out of a calculator. I HAVE to get a web site together with some of my new stuff.

Very cool. What is Luan? I love the individual pieces..the flowers, the marbellised background, the swirls at the bottom and the translucent quality of her skin.
How clever your self portrait is !
Going to have a go at myself…but no promises to share.
I think it’s a type of plywood, and Debe used it as the backing or substrate for her piece
Thanks Shirley. The Backround windows are NAPKINS. The borders on the peice are ribbon.
Luan is a real thin plywood, and I didnt think to seal it or anything, so it did start to warp… so I had to make a frame for it.
I did “intensify” some of “her” features and dress, with chalks and metallic markers…
Thanks…
I love the feel of your work. I like the way you add depth and texture with your mixed media materials. I think your BRAIN SCAN is great! I love it when art immediately brings out emotions. I felt very happy when viewing it.
Keep at it!!
