Our Arts and Crafts channel is growing along with b5 media. For the last several days our bloggers and channel editor have been discussing the direction of our channel. Some people were appalled that ‘Crafts’ might be removed while others were thinking of creative names that will encompass some of the new and exciting blogs that are to come.
William, over at Artist Hideout, has some interesting thoughts on the matter. In fact, he IS the channel editor of this channel. The decision is to change our name to Arts and Design. Pretty spiffy, isn’t it? I like it and think it shows the forward thinking nature of our bloggers. In fact, I did a post at Christmas about this very subject titled Are You An Artist? And an article of the week titled Is Sewing A Forgotten Art?
What do you think about ‘craft’ vs. ‘art’ or do you think it’s the same? Tammy over at Jewelry and Beading has a poll about this. Take a moment to go over there and register your vote. And feel free to tell me what you think.

We should pose controversial subjects like this more often Cathy. I am going to be interested in seeing the stats for tomorrow after this…lol.
Since we started talking about it, I’ve already gotten several people who are interested in being a part of the channel just today. Names are funny things.
It’s very cool that we are growing. That’s good for everyone – except maybe our beleaguered channel editor! LOL
LOL, don’t worry about me, the better you all do is good for me too. I’ll do everything I can to help us grow, not so much big as healthy.
Though, I’d love to eventually be able to just volunteer as a pastor (like Darren does) someday and support my family on just blogging. It would be good for the church too.
