Astronaut Lisa Nowak Grounded

We all have our heroes right? An athlete, a woman presidential hopeful, a Nobel Peace prize winner…sometimes a celebrity chef?

Mine are astronauts…I have been in awe of space exploration and those who risk their lives to travel through our universe since I was a child…these were not mere mortals to my way of thinking.

And a woman astronaut? My goodness…that was my fantasy job!

When the news came out that Astronaut, Lisa Nowak was arrested for the charge of attempted murder, my heart sank.

Another of my heroes turns out not to be a hero. Is no one immune from scandal? Is no one capable of living up to their hero status?

I sincerely hope that Ms. Nowak’s life and career are not ruined over this tragic set of circumstances.

As for me, I’d better start looking for a new hero. I just hope Hillary can live up to my expectations.
