Athroscopy

December 30, 2007 by Marijke Durning, RN
Filed under Diseases & Conditions

A minimally invasive surgery into a joint, meaning there are no large incisions. After making a few tiny incisions, the surgeon inserts a long, narrow tube, called an arthroscope, that has a camera on one end. Using the other incisions to insert the tools, the surgeon sees the inside of the joint through the camera and performs the surgery.
