Australia’s Solar Airport

Australia is moving quite quickly when it comes to solar power. We have been learning of more and more solar stations and solar farms in that country. And one of the newest to reach our ears is the solar plant that may soon be sprouting in the Adelaide Airport.

The solar plant is already being built and by the middle of this year, Australia would be looking at its second largest. And what is unique to this solar plant is that it would be perched right at the roof of the airport’s main terminal.

The whole solar system has the capacity to make 114 kWs of power. It is made up of 760 solar panels that takes up around 1170 square meters. Yes, the whole system is that huge. It has been made to be that large so as to give power to the whole terminal. Come to think of it, the total electricity that the Adelaide Airport solar system is going to convert should be enough to give power to around 30 homes.
