I’m in the middle of the painfully annoying task of finding the right baby gates to fit our home. We have several irregular width archways that are not the size of standard door openings. I can’t imaging mine is the only home out there like this, but several baby gate manufacturers seem to assume that this may be the case do not publish information on the width of their products.

Across numerous websites, certain manufacturers list no information about how wide their gates are. This frustrated me greatly, I considered making the trek to check out the gates in a physical store, then I came to my senses. It’s not my burden, there are other gate manufacturers and retailers out there.

In a shopping experience, online or in store, those hoping to make a sale should provide enough information for one to easily make an informed decision. It shouldn’t be my burden to seek more product information. Especially in an online sale where one doesn’t have the tactile or first-hand experience of looking at product packaging, manufacturers and retailers should go out of their way to give potential customers every bit of info that one needs to make an informed purchase decision.

It’s a simple way to help get an extra sale, but they don’t do it. I don’t want to have to pull teeth to give you my money, it’s not something I’m thrilled out. So instead of me seeking out additional information, I’m seeking out different manufacturers and different retailers. Put yourself in the shoes of those using your products and you’ll have happier customers, higher sales and develop brand evangelists. Instead you’ve irritated me and made sure I never buy anything from you.

1. Your children pay more attention to the words and content of movies than you do.
2. Laughing at something your kid does and them telling them no probably won’t change what they do.
3. Do not mess with this little girl.
