I have been soooooooooo sleepy this week. Between the after effects of a week partying with the b5media youngsters in Austin, and my usual misery that is March allergies (but I am so glad things are getting green around here!), I have really been miserable this week. I have gone to bed early every night (even 8:30 one night – that is unheard of for me!), and taken a short cat nap nearly every afternoon. So what is wrong with me? 1. Allergies. They zap your energy. March is typically a terrible month for me, something is blooming that gives me migraines and the only answer to those is drugs and sleep. I’m really trying to stay on top of it this year by taking my daily allergy meds and it has... [Read more]

If there is one person I can relate to in this world, it is Carnie Wilson. Her struggles with her weight have been so very public over the last quite a few years. She is the daughter of Beach Boy Brian Williams, who himself had a fairly public struggle with his weight and other issues. Carnie had gastric bypass surgery in 1999, losing half of her body weight, and since has slowly been gaining her weight back. She has tried everything known to man, including losing 22 pounds on Celebrity Fit Club a couple of years ago. Now, why do I sympathize with her so much? She is turning 40 this year, and she wants this weight GONE by then. Me too. Ugh. For Pete’s sake, if you can’t... [Read more]

*big sigh* One of my dearest friends has been really into this Self Challenge for the past couple of go-rounds. National Breakfast Week

This next week coming up is National Breakfast Week. You did know we had National Breakfast Week, didn’t you? Some of the things that I am concerned about as a mother is not passing on my horrific food habits on to my kids. Sadly, that doesn’t always work. But one thing that is really important to me is to teach them to eat breakfast every morning. I am pretty firm in my belief that it is very important to give your metabolism a kick start after overnight starvation. I have a love/hate relationship with the fact that breakfasts are served in the schools now – I loved it Monday morning when I woke up tremendously late, but sometimes I am pretty sure that when I feed my kids breakfast at home, and...
